  2. Lewis County Solid Waste Disposal District No. 1

    Pursuant to RCW 36.58.100 et seq., the Lewis County Solid Waste Disposal District (LCSWDD) No. 1, a quasi-municipal corporation, was established by Ordinance 1124 (now LCC 8.15.150) in 1992, after Lewis County and all incorporated cities signed an interlocal agreement to form it. In addition to forming the district, the agreement established flow control, directing all solid waste generated in Lewis County to be disposed of at LCSWDD sites. Representatives from the cities and the County serve as the Executive Advisory Committee to the Disposal District Commissioners, who by statute are the Lewis County Commissioners. The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) program that educates residents about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.     Fall Repair & Sustainability Fair Fall 2024 Repair & Sustainability Fairs: The WSU Lewis County Master Recycler Composter (MRC) volunteers will host a Fall Repair & Sustainability Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 21 the SWFT Center at Centralia College. Two previous events were held this year, one in Morton and one in Centralia. At these events volunteer fixers repairs numerous items, including throw pillows, ripped pants, sweaters, sewing machine, lawn mower, chain saw, a lamp.     The Prosecuting Attorney is the chief legal officer for Lewis County. The primary mission of a Prosecuting Attorney is to enforce criminal laws and work for the victims of crime. This includes obtaining orders for restitution for the victim, informing the victim of court dates, and acting as an advocate for the victim at trial and sentencing.
