Fluorescent Lights
Lewis County offers a recycling program for fluorescent lights and high intensity discharge lights as part of the state's LightCycle Washington Program.

The County offers two collection sites for residential customers:
- Hazo Hut at Central Transfer Station
- 1411 South Tower Avenue, Centralia.
- Fluorescent and high intensity discharge lights
- Every Wednesday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the first and third Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- No more than 10 bulbs per household per visit
- If you have more than 10 bulbs, please call 360-740-1221 to make an appointment
- Light Cycle Washington allows for a resident or business to drop off up to 10 mercury-containing lights for free when the Hazo Hut is open in Centralia or during regular hours in Morton. After the first 10 lights, the following charges apply:
- $1.00 per pound
- Specialty light: $2.50 each
- East Lewis County Transfer Station

Please do not bring incandescent lights. These should be thrown away with your garbage.
When you break a fluorescent light:
- Open the windows and leave the room for 15 minutes.
- Return to the room with a plastic sealing bag, tape and a wet sponge
- Use the tape to pick up the broken pieces. Place the broken pieces in the bag.
- Use more tape to pickup the dust. Do not use a vacuum. Place the tape in the bag.
- Use a wet sponge to clean the area. Place the sponge in a bag.
- Take the bags to the Hazo Hut for proper disposal. See the Hazo Hut pages for hours and location.
