Lewis County seeks applicants to fill vacancy on Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC)
The Lewis County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) is accepting applications from individuals interested in filling a vacancy on its Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC).
Applicants must represent an entity that would be allowed to receive funding from lodging tax revenues under RCW 67.28.
The lodging tax, also referred to as the hotel-motel tax, is a consumer tax on lodging for hotels, motels, rooming houses, private campgrounds, RV parks and similar facilities. Lewis County collects lodging tax in unincorporated parts of the county and then distributes the money among Lewis County entities that support tourism. LTAC volunteers advise the BOCC on how to best allocate those funds.
The term for this seat expires Dec. 31. Please remember that the vacancy can be filled only by someone who represents an entity that qualifies to receive the lodging tax revenues generated in unincorporated Lewis County (not someone representing a business that is required to collect the tax).
To apply, submit an application and a letter of interest to Rieva Lester, Clerk of the Board, by mail at 351 N.W. North St., Chehalis, WA 98532, or via email (attn.: Rieva Lester) at . Applications are due by 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019.
