Adopt-A-Road Program

Adopt a Road

Let’s keep Lewis County clean!

In the past, the Lewis County Department of Public Works, Solid Waste Utility, has offered an Adopt-A-Road Program for community groups or like-minded friends and neighbors to pick up litter along county roads. This program was on hiatus for a few years. Plans are in the works to bring it back later in 2022.

When back in effect, groups that want to participate in the program will be loaned litter grabbers, hard hats, safety vests and road safety signs, and be provided with litter bags to fill and leave in a pre-determined spot for collection by a county crew. The groups must agree to clean their designated roadways a minimum of two times per year. Anyone interested in this program may call 360-740-1451 with questions or to request an application.
