Centralia Prevention Coalition and Kiddin’ Around to Host Superhero-Themed Fun Run

Chehalis, WA—The Centralia Prevention Coalition and Kiddin’ Around invite community members to sign-up for the Super Fun Run (Walk & Roll) on Saturday, March 26th from 10:00 am -12:00 pm at Fort Borst Park, 500 Pioneer Way in Centralia. Families and children of all ages and abilities are welcome. Participants are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite superheroes, and registration is free.

The theme, “Be a Hero, Stay Drug Free,” hopes to encourage kids to avoid drugs and focus on positive activities, like staying active and helping others. “We are so excited to offer this event,” said Sara Bumgardner, the Coordinator for the Centralia Prevention Coalition. “We know youth substance use is a problem in our community and want to give kids fun, positive alternatives to using drugs.”

The Super Fun Run will raise money for the Centralia Athletics and Activities Facilities Foundation (CAAFF). CAAFF is involved in enhancing Centralia School District athletics, activities, and facilities in a variety of ways including facility projects and fundraising. Participants are encouraged to collect donations. Prizes will be awarded for the most money raised and most laps!

The run will start at 10:00 am by Fort Borst Park’s Shelter 1. Children and families will run, walk, or roll along the half-mile Lake Trail loop. Free cocoa and cookies will also be offered at the finish line. Participating children will also receive a free Super Fun Run water bottle.
