Lewis County has been able to secure a new alert system that is much more configurable, and robust than our previous system. This new service will allow us to serve our citizens and emergency responders much more efficiently. Unfortunately we do need you to reactivate your account information and setup your preferences. This process does not take very long and we don’t want you to miss out on any important alerts that you may wish to receive. We invite you to sign up today for the new and improved Lewis County Alert system. Please click on the following link and follow the instructions.
On Saturday May 10th Lewis County 911 held a candlelight remembrance ceremony in observance of all of the children still missing around the United States and in conjunction with National Missing Children's Month in Lewis County. Each of the 97 children listed as missing from Washington State had their name on a luminaria bag. These 97 missing date all the way back to 1968 and are a fraction of the approx. 800,000 listed as missing by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
Below is a link that provides information on what to do before, during and after a windstorm. This brochure was put out by Washington State Emergency Management Division.

May 25th,2013 Lewis County 911 was fortunate enough to help out at an event held at the Tumwater to raise awareness for the children still missing and remembering the children we have lost. It was beyond emotional to hear all of the names read off by county of just those still missing from Washington State. Among them was 2 year old Sky Metawala. There was a table set up for him across from ours where his father and some other relatives had large pictures of him.
On Wednesday May 22nd, 2013, Lewis County 911 Communications held a press conference to highlight the Take 25 program as well as the current missing children of Washington State. Take 25 is a program developed through National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The program emphasizes necessary safety conversations to have with children to improve their safety on the internet, walking to school, and in other public environs.
