Meet the Board
About Us
The Lewis County Noxious Weed Control Board recognizes that managing noxious weeds requires a community wide effort, and everyone living in the county benefits from all of us putting in our fair share of the work. The Washington State noxious weed law, RCW 17.10, mandates that it is each landowners' responsibility to control or eradicate noxious weeds on their property and to prevent infestations from spreading to adjacent properties. To assist landowners in this effort, the Noxious Weed Control Board develops programs that reflect local priorities, meet the needs of county landowners and carries out the mandates of the law. In addition, the Noxious Weed Control Program provides weed prevention strategies, educational forums, technical assistance, compliance actions, as well as other resources to manage noxious weeds within Lewis County.
The Noxious Weed Control Program receives its guidance and oversight from the Weed Control Board, comprised of 5 members who are appointed by the Lewis County Commissioners in accordance with the RCW 17.10. Each member of the board represents one of five weed districts in Lewis County, a map of which may be found here.
The Weed Control Program also employs a Program Coordinator, and two Noxious Weed Specialists, in addition to a number of seasonal Field Technicians and one intern.
We are always looking for opportunities to interact with and assist the residents of Lewis County. Charles Edmonson
The Program Coordinator, Charles Edmonson is a graduate of the University of Texas, Austin and has worked with the Noxious Weed Control Program since early 2021. After living all across the American West while working for the National Park Service, US Forest Service, and Bureau of Land Management for many years, he is happy to settle down, and excited to learn more about Western Washington while getting acquainted with local residents. Charles is always happy to lend support to local farmers and small landholders alike for weed control, pasture management, or anything weed or plant related. When he isn't acting as a land steward for the land of Lewis County, Charles can be found exploring one of Washington’s many forested, mountain trails with his dog, Pascal.

Danielle Green
Danielle Green is the field based Noxious Weed Specialist whose primary focus is field and data management. Danielle got her start in the Natural Resources program at Green River College and went on to get her Masters of Environmental Science degree with a focus on invasive vegetation ecology from the Evergreen State College. She loves her collection of various tree cones and often spends her spare time either outdoors or crafting. She has been a resident of Lewis County since the summer of 2018 and expects it will be permanent.
