Records Division
The Records Division of the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office is open to serve the public Monday through Friday, (except Holidays), 8:00 am-5:00 pm. We are located in the Law and Justice Center at 345 W. Main Street, Chehalis, WA.
The records staff independently coordinates and performs a broad range of technical support services to the Operations, Corrections and Services Bureaus. Support technicians are responsible for computer entry, processing, storage, retrieval and dissemination of various reports, records and information within the Sheriff’s Office, along with assisting the public at the counter and on the phone. The staff includes six support technicians.
Support technicians process and maintain law enforcement case reports, booking reports, fingerprint cards, crime scene photographs, stolen property, guns, vehicles, missing and runaway persons per state statute. The staff also processes requests for reports, montages, and other law enforcement information according to established policy, and procedure. They compile monthly statistics, check for accuracy and create reports from UCR/IBR information, and provide an audit trail of law enforcement information distributed to various agencies.
