FREE 5-GAL Plastic buckets available at both Swap Shack locations!

The Swap Shack at the Hazo Hut

The material give-a-way program is FREE to residents and businesses.

The Hazo Hut accepts a large amount of material that is still usable.  The chart below lists material that may be available in the Swap Shack.

  • Latex paint in original containers.
  • Remixed latex paint in 5-gal buckets
  • Oil based paints and stains in original containers
  • Adhesives, glues, caulking, tar and asphalt emulsions
  • Household cleaners (windex, 409, Lysol, Drain-O)
  • Laundry products
  • Lawn and Garden chemical and fertilizers (Roundup; 2,4-D; Casoron; weed n' feed)
  • Automotive products (oil; antifreeze; car wash; wax)

The Swap Shack is open Monday through Saturday. Hours are from 8:00 A.M. to 5 P.M.

Please follow all instructions on posted signage. Please complete a material acceptance form when taking any material from the Swap Shack. Forms are available in the Swap Shack. You may bring your own form by printing a copy of this page. Please bring a pen or pencil to complete this form. Lewis County does not provide writing instruments.

The Swap Shack at the East Lewis County Transfer Station

The Hazo Hut accepts a large amount of material that is still usable. Usable material is transported to the Swap Shack at the East Lewis County Transfer Station. The chart below lists material that may be available in the Swap Shack.

Plastic Drums now available at the Material Recovery Center for FREE

The MeRC has a limited supply of 55-Gal and 15-Gal drums. Drums are bung-type.


Drums are available Wednesdays only or by appointment
