Solid Waste Special Events

 scheduled events at this time are:

Lewis County Solid Waste and the Master Recycler Composters are holding a leaf exchange outside the Central Transfer Station entrance. Saturday October 18th 2014 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday November 15th 2014 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Rake up & bag your leave so gardeners and composters can put them to good use. Bagged leaves may be dropped off between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.outside the Central Transfer Station entrance. Leaves will be available for pickup that day only on a first come first serve basis while supplies last. Lewis County Master Recycler Composter volunteers will be on hand to help the leaf exchange run smoothly. Questions call 360 740 1452. Volunteers reserve the right to refuse any bags that may contain unwanted or unusable material. Please have leaves in bags and please do not include any weeds, lawn grass or other contaminates.

Don't forget you can recycle your natural corks at the Central Transfer Station or the East Lewis County Transfer Station, just ask a staff person for directions. (Natural corks only No screw-top caps or plastic closures)

You can recycle your Christmas Trees beginning December 26th 2014 through January 11th 2014. Master Recycler Composter volunteers along with Master Gardener Volunteers will be hosting the event. The collection times begin at 10:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. each day. Please NO Flocked trees or Artificial trees will be accepted, also please remove all tinsel, lights and ornaments from trees. Your donation to the Master Recycler Composters volunteers and Master Gardener volunteers will greatly be appreciated and will help keep the programs running for years to come.
