Free Sensitive Document Shredding
Free sensitive document shredding will be offered on Sunday, April 17, 2016, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., during the Home and Garden Show at the NW Sports Hub, 701 Allen Ave., Centralia. There will be a limit of three bags per person. While there, also visit the Lewis County Solid Waste Utility/Lewis County Master Recycler Composter booth at the fifty-first annual Home and Garden Show, which runs Friday, April 15, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, April 16, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, April 16, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Earth Day 2016
Free Styrofoam Recycling – Two Dates and Two Locations
Clean, dry Styrofoam pieces – free of all tape and labels – will be collected for recycling at the following locations and dates:
- The Earth Day Celebration at Centralia College, April 22, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- At the Central Transfer Station, 1411 S. Tower Ave., Centralia, April 23, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
No peanuts, please. Please reuse or offer for reuse at local mailing facilities. Call the Lewis County Solid Waste Utility office – 360-740-1452 or 1-800-749-5980 – for more information on how to get your Styrofoam ready for recycling.
Free Tire Recycling Events 2016
The Lewis County Solid Waste Utility, Lewis County Code Enforcement Dept. and the Washington State Department of Ecology will offer two, free tire recycling events in Lewis County this spring: April 21, 22 & 23, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the old Mossyrock Solid Waste Drop Box, 515 Larsen Road, Mossyrock. May 12, 13 & 14, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the parking lot at south end of Southwest Washington Fairgrounds, 2555 N. National Ave., Chehalis.
These events are for residential customers with passenger and light truck tires on or off the rim. Please do not bring tires from business customers, semi-truck or heavy equipment tires – we are unable to accept them. Open to all Lewis County residents.
