The Assessment Division in Lewis County Public Health works to understand health issues in our community through data collection and analysis. This information allows us to make more informed decisions about programs, policies and procedures. It helps us prioritize needs, generate resources, make service or program changes, and implement policies to improve the health of the public.
Through this work we have a better understanding of what is really happening in our communities and what the real needs are. Program and policy decisions can then be made based on data and not assumptions.
Another source for Lewis County data is the annual County Health Rankings report compiled by the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute.
