Lewis County's Developmental Disability Committee (DDC) and staff are critical to develop and deliver community services to meet the needs of people with disabilities. As representatives of the community, committee members are responsible for gathering information and deciding the direction and need for services. As representatives of the community, you have an advocacy opportunity on behalf of people with disabilities and their families.
Residents of Lewis County interested in assisting individuals with developmental disabilities and their families are invited to apply for DDC membership. The Lewis County Public Health & Social Services Advisory Board (LCPH&SSAB) is interested in a balanced representation on the DDC, in terms of ethnicity, occupation, geographic location, and experience with developmental disability issues. All interested individuals and individuals with developmental disabilities living in the area are strongly encouraged to apply.
Deadline for Applications is February 15th 2018.
Members will be appointed to the DDC using the following process:
- Applicants complete and send in an application.
- Applications are reviewed by representative(s) of the Public Health & Social Services Advisory Board and the Lewis County Developmental Disabilities Coordinator.
- Member recommendations will be presented to the PH&SSAB for approval.
- Persons who are appointed to be on the DDC must complete a criminal history background check form, and acknowledgement of confidentiality and conflict of interest.
