County seeks grant applicants for emergency food and shelter programs

Chehalis, WA – Lewis County has been awarded federal funds from the Federal Emergency Management Agency under the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program. A total of $45,754 has been awarded to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in the county. A local board will determine how the funds awarded to Lewis County will be distributed. Qualifying agencies are urged to apply.

Under the terms of the grant, to be eligible for funding local agencies must: 1) be private voluntary non-profits or units of government, 2) be eligible to receive federal funds, 3) have an accounting system, 4) practice nondiscrimination, 5) have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs, and 6) if they are a private voluntary organization, have a voluntary board.

Request For Proposal

Lewis County Public Health & Social Services is announcing a request for proposals for Homeless Housing funds collected and to be distributed in accordance with RCW 43.185C.050. These dollars shall be used to reduce homelessness in Lewis County. Proposals must be for activities outlined in the Lewis County Ten Year Plan to Reduce Homelessness. Proposals must demonstrate ability to provide the services. Homeless Housing funds may not be used to supplant current projects and expenses.
