The Cowlitz – Lewis Economic Development District (CLEDD) has teamed up with a Federal Way emergency management consulting firm, Pearce Global Partners, to help Cowlitz and Lewis County businesses better prepare themselves for disasters.
The success of this project depends upon the input of business owners and professionals like yourselves. Puget Sound energy hosting a live demonstration for emergency responder training
Puget Sound Energy (PSE) offers a course for firefighters, police and other emergency response personnel on how to identify and manage potential hazards when confronted with an incident involving natural gas or high-voltage power-lines. The half-day training session will provide an overview of the properties, equipment and emergency procedures necessary to assess and reduce the risk to people and property.
Program format will include classroom instruction using energized high-voltage equipment and video re-enactments of natural gas incidents and response scenarios.
Training held at PSE's Seattle or Tacoma Operation Base will include a "live-gas" simulation providing a hands-in review of various natural gas emergency situations.

A Coordinated Response to Food Emergencies: Practice and Execution - Posted at: 2/1/2010 8:21:50 AM
This is a free course. With prior approval, lodging may be reimbursed for those participants who must travel 50 miles or more to attend.
The event will be held at these times:
- May 4-5, 2010 (Yakima County)
- May 20-21, 2010 (Thurston County)
- June 29-30, 2010 (King County)

The following improvements have been made:
- 7 tributaries have been added
- Ability to "click" on only those rivers that you want to track
- Color coded river phases
- Print options by a date range or number of hours
- The USGS gage numbers are "linked" individually and open a new window showing graphs or tables for that river
