The following improvements have been made:
- 7 tributaries have been added
- Ability to "click" on only those rivers that you want to track
- Color coded river phases
- Print options by a date range or number of hours
- The USGS gage numbers are "linked" individually and open a new window showing graphs or tables for that river

National Weather service - weather spotter training

Where: Lewis County Sheriff's Office Training Room, 345 West Main St., Chehalis
Time: 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Who should attend?
- New and Veteran Weather Spotters
- Citizens interested in knowing more about weather
- Amateur Radio (RACES/ARES)
- CERT (Certified Emergency Response Team)
- Citizen Corps
- Fire Services and Law Enforcement
Training includes a video demonstration
Weather spotters are needed in Rural Lewis County, particularly West of I-5, as well as those who have weather instrumentation such as an anemometer or rain gauge.
Seating capacity is 50, so please sign up early!

Question: What is swine flu?
- Swine flu is a new strain of respiratory influenza.
- Symptoms are fever with cough or sore throat.
- Swine flu has only caused mild illness in the US. There have been no cases yet in Washington.
Question: How is it spread?
- Swine flu is spread person to person when people cough and sneeze, spreading germs through the air or on to surfaces that others come in contact with.
- It is not transmitted by food. You can not get swine flu from eating pork or pork products.
question: How do I protect myself?
- Cover your cough and sneeze
Wash or sanitize hands and surfaces often
Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth
Avoid contact with sick people
Question: What do I do if I think I have swine flu?
- If you are sick stay home
Call your medical provider before seeking care
