The Board of County Commissioners is currently accepting applications for use of hotel/motel lodging tax funds for the 2013 budget year from organizations whose programs or activities promote tourism in the unincorporated Lewis County area. “Tourism Promotion” is defined as “activities designed to increase tourism, including but not limited to advertising, publicizing, or otherwise distributing information for the purpose of attracting and welcoming tourists; and funding the marketing of special events designed to attract tourists.” These funds may no longer be used for the administrative costs of running an agency as of July 1, 2013.
Interested parties are requested to submit an application by September 21st, 2012. Applications are available here and in the Budget Department Rm. 209 on the 2nd floor of the Historic Courthouse. Applications should be sent to the following address:
