Bill and his family live in Dryad, WA. Following a distinguished 24 year career in the United States Coast Guard, retiring with the ranks of Commander he and his family chose Lewis County as home. He has fully embraced his life in Lewis County with his involvement in community activities, his church, and as the elected Commissioner from District No. 2.

Bill takes the commission of his office very seriously and hopes to see three of his major concerns addressed during his term:
- Efficient and Effective Government
- Open and Ethical
- Providing required services
- Flood Control and Mitigation
- Continue to work toward a basin-wide solution
- Economic Development
- Create positive, welcoming environment for potential investors
- Partner with the ports and industrial areas
- Work with the Economic Development Council, Chamber of Commerce, and Centralia Community College
- Encourage the Lewis County Public Facilities District to expedite the building of the Regional Equestrian Center
