Jury Reporting Instructions

How does jury duty work?

When you receive your summons in the mail, please complete both sides of the form and return it immediately. Toward the end of the month prior to your month of service, click on the link for Jury Reporting Instructions or call the jury message line at (360) 740-1462. The web page or recorded message will instruct you as to what day you will report. It is essential that you check the message after 6 p.m. the night before you are scheduled to report to ensure your service is still required. The day you are to report, you will proceed to the 4th floor of the Law & Justice Center if you are on Panels 1 or 2. Jurors on Panels 5 and 6 will report to the 3rd floor. A juror orientation will be conducted the first reporting day.

Where should I park?

There is a dedicated jury parking lot on the corner of Pacific Ave & W Center St (North of the Health Department). Jurors are also welcome to park in the Law & Justice Center parking lot.

Compensation

Jurors receive $15.00 per reporting day plus mileage.

Courtroom Protocol

  • Please dress appropriately.
  • Do not bring children with you to court.
  • No eating or drinking in the courtrooms.

Can I be excused or re-scheduled?

Requests to be excused or re-scheduled should be made in writing on the jury summons. If asking to be re-scheduled, please indicate which month would work better.

If you have additional questions, please contact the Jury Clerk at (360) 740-1177.
