Terms:

Proposed budget: The initial budget given to offices and departments, used to develop their recommendations.

Recommended budget: The budget developed by offices and departments and submitted to the Budget Dept.

Preliminary budget: The budget as noticed, published, and presented for final adoption.

Final budget: The budget as adopted at public hearing and set for the following calendar year.
