$5 DONATIONS TO STATE PARKS

During the last legislative session, a bill was approved changing the way $5.00 donations to State Parks are collected. Previously, those who wanted to donate had to check the box and add in the minimum $5.00 amount to their total amount for their license tabs.

The new system, which began with the September renewals, has the $5.00 automatically included in the total. If you choose to opt-out, you must check the box and subtract the amount from your total amount.

UCC TERMINATION FEES

Due to a recent change in the Revised Code of Washington pertaining to UCC Fixture Filings, the Lewis County Auditor’s Office will begin charging a fee to record UCC Fixture Termination Filings.

Previously, RCW 62A.9-404 indicated the termination filing was to be recorded as a no-fee document. With the change to RCW 62A.9A-525(b), that language was removed allowing County Auditors to begin charging for the termination filings.

As explained in RCW 62A.9A-525(b), the fee for recording UCC Fixture Filings and UCC Fixture Terminations shall be “the fee that would otherwise be applicable to the recording of a mortgage in that filing office.” Therefore, beginning May 1, 2009 the fee to record a UCC Fixture Termination will be $42.00 for the first page and $1.00 for each additional page.
